Historical and botanical research
Each restoration of a historic villa’s park is a difficult project that requires research around hard-to-find materials and old design layouts by architect from previous decades. But this process is necessary to create a successful rendition that mirrors the original proportions and spaces.
The garden was realised using plants that were positioned on an attic by using innovative construction systems for the creation of roof gardens. These systems allow the correct growth of the vegetation with watering devices, as well as rainwater drainage.
The constant presence on the construction site of our landscape architects has ensured the successful implementation of the project. During inspections, they have documented each phase with photographs that were then delivered to the client at the end of the project. A big part of the work is the research on the specific vegetation of each location. Specialists spend time in plant nurseries looking for magnolias, oaks, yews, hornbeams, ancient roses and vines. The research effort aims to restore the original green landscape.
A vegetation research of the time in order not to "pollute" the parks and the surrounding greenery.
Then historical plants such as Magnolias, Oaks, Taxus baccata, Carpinus betulus or ancient roses or old vines are searched in the nurseries which are removed to allow the restoration of the facades.
A search for materials required by the Superintendency of Artistic and Cultural Heritage.
Thus was born a real vegetational restoration.
